I've got into this Savage thing with you people from reading all of the emails, requests, suggestions, etc. I purchased a Savage for my wife to ride and she loves it and we both enjoy personalizing it for her. She put on a Rifle (small) windshield that she had on her previous Virago 535. She put the slant saddle bags on it from the same bike but we put stiffeners (Plastic-1/4") on the insides and bottom to help them keep their shape better. Made brackets that hang over the chrome side fender but hold the bags straight and clear of everything. We put on a windshield toolbag in front of the windshield and another bag behind the windshield above the handlebars. We've found out that with any running around that storage can end up being a problem without these bags. We put on the Jardine muffler after coating the inside of the pipes with hi-temp (1500 degree) Bar-B-Q grill paint to prevent the heat from discoloring the chrome. She burnt her pants on the joint from the exhaust so I took the original guard from the stock exhaust and made brackets to cover this area. It looks like it was made for it. We put some graphics on the fenders and tanks and laced the clutch and brake handles. She has received numerous compliments on her bike and she is super proud of it. As soon as a warm day arrives I'll try and get some pictures on this site to see what we've done and maybe give others some idea's for theirs. We've never rejetted the bike but it does backfire when decelerating but from what I've read others have had no luck in getting rid of this and seems to be the nature of the little beast.
